In December 2015 El Rancho launched a new internship programme, inviting people from every nation to partner with us in ministry and serve for a 40 week intensive semester that will be
truly life changing.
In our environment you will encounter God and grow in your relationship with Him, while learning life and leadership skills that will empower you to impact your world.
You will embark on a journey of renewal, transformation and personal discovery intended to launch you into the destiny God has planned for your life.
Our interns are at the heart of our community mission to train, equip, and empower leaders to impact their world.
As an El Rancho intern you will become a valuable member of our staff and community. Our goal is to create an environment where you can become the best version of you, participating in all aspects of our camping and ministry operation. Your role will include serving in the kitchen, housekeeping and activity departments as well as helping our events team to facilitate kids, youth and leadership camps.
During the 40 week programme we will help you to develop a meaningful prayer and devotion life, as well as imparting life and identity into you through weekly equipping and teaching sessions.
Our expectation is that you will encounter the power and presence of God like never before.
El Rancho is a not-for-profit interdenominational Christian camp and conference centre situated on 60 acres in Waikanae. Located in a beautiful and tranquil setting bordering the Waikanae river and a short river track to Waikanae beach, we are 50 minutes north of the capital city Wellington.
We have been operating as a Christian camp and conference centre here for over 50 years. Waikanae Christian Holiday Park (El Rancho) was established as an incorporated society on 8 April 1963. It was to be a place where people with Christian desires or interests could gather in peace to develop in their faith, build relationships in community and engage in promoting the life-giving good news of Jesus Christ.
The site is used to run camps for schools, churches, families, community and corporate groups as well as holiday camps, but a primary focus and reason for being is healing, discipling and equipping young people from all over the world through this intern programme.
The camp setting and operation, makes for a really effective training ground for shaping young hearts and lives.
