Programme and Events Manager

El Rancho is looking for an experienced and inspirational Programme and Events Manager to take the organisations programmes, events and activities into the future.

The holiday park and conference centre is situated in 30 hectares of park-like surroundings on the beautiful Kapiti Coast, 50 minutes from Wellington, New Zealand.

Purpose of the Position: 

The purpose of this position is to ensure El Rancho fulfils her mission effectively both locally and globally by facilitating ministries that are Jesus centred, biblically based and creatively and appropriately expressed in and through the current culture.
         
In brief the Ministries and Programmes manager will:
       

• Recruit, develop & lead a team of people, made up of staff and volunteers, whose primary task is to use Christian camping programmes and activities as a means to introduce the Christian life to people, invite them into relationship with Jesus, and develop their faith and practice to demonstrate Kingdom living on earth.
• Create and develop ministry programmes that: are centred on the person of Jesus as revealed in the Scriptures; seek to develop new and maturing Christians through the programme activities and; facilitate the fullness of life and joy indicative of the Christian life (i.e., they are fun!)
• Effectively market our ministry and programmes to the public and particularly to our guests.
• Provide professional and spiritual development opportunities for team members.
• Deliver excellent Christian hospitality services while specifically exceeding the expectations of our guests.
• Assist the Executive Director in the development of the Camp’s spiritual direction by serving in a pastoral capacity to the community at El Rancho.

At El Rancho, we're inundated with kids who want to come to camp. But we also need young people who are excited by evangelism and discipleship and want to be leaders.

Camp Leaders

“Short nights, dirt, smells, kids everywhere, mates, music, worship and that awesome feeling that comes from a chance to make a difference in children’s lives.”

What does it take to be a camp leader?

You need to be a committed Christian, 16 or older.

You’ll provide 5 days of enthusiasm, encouragement, love and leadership for a cabin of 5-10 kids.

We will train you, feed you, and support you through the week.

You’ll be energised, make new friends, learn about leadership, grow in your own faith and witness first-hand, God at work, changing kids’ lives.

If finances are stopping you coming to camp you may be eligible for some financial assistance.

El Rancho is a Christian holiday park ministering to holiday-makers, children’s holiday camps, churches, school groups, conferences and retreats. Waikanae is a beautiful town close to the beach, river and mountains. We have 4 short-term positions available over summer each year for young people to gain experience in the Christian Camping ministry.
